The members of the Club have listened to two specialized reports: “Sharing Experiences in Publishing Scientific Papers in Prestigious International Journals” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Thanh (Head of the Department of Water Science and Technology, Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, VNU-HCM) and “International Publication in Social Sciences from the Perspective of a Reviewer” by Dr. Nguyen Vinh Khuong (Deputy Head of the Postgraduate and Research Management Office, University of Economics and Law, VNU-HCM).

The presenters have brought new approaches to leveraging information sources and writing international scientific papers. Additionally, they shared experiences in enhancing research collaboration among Vietnamese and international scientists, as well as experiences in selecting suitable journals and new research trends.

During the activity, experts and scientists from the VNUHCM also proposed solutions to improve the effectiveness of the Club’s activities through the establishment of interdisciplinary research groups.

Associate Professor Vu Hai Quan, the Director of VNUHCM, expects that the Club’s activities will help scientists and researchers raise awareness of the importance of international publications. The VNUHCM is ready to provide the best conditions for its team of scientists and institutions to conduct scientific research.

The series of activities of the Interdisciplinary Research Club in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities is organized to implement the strategic plan for scientific development, technology, and innovation of the VNUHCM from 2021 to 2030. Specifically, this includes rapidly increasing the number of international publications in the field of social sciences and humanities indexed in the Scopus database, while also enhancing the quality of high-quality human resources training, spreading passion, raising awareness of scientific research, qualitative and quantitative research in research and survey, sharing research experiences, and fostering a research culture throughout the system.
