As of December 2022, VNUHCM has been granted two patents by the US Patent and Trademark Office in the fields of materials technology and environmental technology. VNUHCM is proceeding with the submission of international patent applications designated for the US, with four applications being reviewed. It is anticipated that in 2023, VNUHCM will obtain an additional three international patents. two typical inventions of VNUHCM granted US patents in 2022 are "New metal-organic framework" and “Submerged Tubular Membrane Distillation (STMD) Method and Apparatus for desalination to create fresh water from seawater, salt water, brackish water".
