Implementation of the Science and Technology Cooperation Program between Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province
On the morning of May 7, 2025, a significant working session took place between the Department of Science and Technology of Dong Nai Province and Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM). The primary focus of this meeting was to discuss the implementation of a science and technology cooperation program. This initiative aligns with Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, which emphasizes breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation.
Representing the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology at the session were Mr. Tạ Quang Trường, the Director, along with the Deputy Directors and heads of its various divisions. VNUHCM’s delegation included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lâm Quang Vinh, Head of the Science and Technology Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huỳnh Thanh Công, Deputy Head of the same department; and M.A. Hồ Nguyên Nhật Tiên, Deputy Head of the Department of External Relations and Project Development.
During the productive discussions, both sides identified key tasks and potential solutions for the successful implementation of the cooperation program between VNUHCM and Dong Nai Province. Specifically, they outlined strategic missions for Dong Nai Province in the context of Resolution 57-NQ/TW and initiated the establishment of a collaborative framework between the province and VNUHCM. A mutual agreement was reached to develop a cooperative model that integrates enterprises, research institutes/universities, and local authorities, driven by the specific needs of the province. Furthermore, VNUHCM committed to providing consultation to assist Dong Nai in formulating specific mechanisms and policies aimed at fostering breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Mr. Tạ Quang Trường, Director of the Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology, underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships with leading institutions and universities such as VNUHCM. He emphasized that this collaboration is a crucial step towards achieving the goals of scientific and technological development in a manner that is relevant to the local context and consistent with the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW.
