On August 29, 2023, the Science and Training Council (term dates 2023-2026) of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City hosted its first meeting VNUHCM headquarter.

The Council members elected Prof. Tran Linh Phuoc – former President of VNUHCM University of Science, as the Chairperson; and Prof. Phan Thi Tuoi – former President of VNUHCM University of Technology, as Deputy Chair.

Besides, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Quang Vinh – Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Dr. Duong Ton Thai Duong – Deputy Director of the Department of Academic Affairs, and Hoang Thi Hanh, MA. – Deputy Chief of the VNUHCM Office, are elected as the Secretaries.

The Council has provided feedback on drafts regarding the regulations on organization and operation, VNUHCM’s development Strategy in the 2021-2030 period, the Approval Decision of the Project on the Development of the VNUHCM as one of the top universities in Asia, and the Project of VNUHCM Innovative Entrepreneurship Center.

At the end of the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan, VNUHCM Chancellor, appreciated the contributions of the Council members. He emphasized the crucial role of the Science and Training Council in providing orientation on scientific research and education development at the VNU-HCM.

On August 19, 2023, the VNU-HCM Chancellor issued the Decision on the establishment of the VNUHCM Science and Training Council, consisting of the following members:
