Working session between the Department of Science and Technology of Vietnam National University, Hanoi and the Department of Science and Technology of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City

On July 26, 2024, a working session was held at the Administration House of Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), between the Department of Science and Technology (S&T) of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU Hanoi), and VNUHCM.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of VNUHCM, opened the meeting with a speech, highlighting key issues for cooperative efforts in science, technology, and innovation between the two national universities.

The discussion centered on collaborative initiatives to enhance the role of both universities in shaping policies for the advancement of science, technology, and innovation. The two sides explored joint efforts in developing and implementing key S&T programs, particularly in fields such as information security, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Thanh Tu, Head of the Science and Technology Department at VNU Hanoi, presented an overview of VNU Hanoi’s science and technology management, showcasing its notable achievements, especially in international publications.

Similarly, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Quang Vinh, Head of the Science and Technology Department at VNUHCM, provided insights into the unique aspects of VNUHCM’s science and technology management.

 

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai chaired a discussion on the topics introduced by the Director of VNUHCM, sharing experiences in science and technology management from both universities. Delegates from the Science and Technology Departments of the two VNUs, along with representatives from member units and affiliated entities of VNUHCM, exchanged insights on managing international science and technology projects, enhancing science and technology journals, investing in key research groups, and integrating scientific research with postgraduate training. The participants also actively prepared for the upcoming meeting between the two national universities on science, technology, and innovation.
