The 5th meeting of the Interdisciplinary Research Club in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities
On December 23, An Giang University collaborated with Department of Science and Technology, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM) to host the 5th meeting of the Interdisciplinary Research Club in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The event, themed “Promoting Interdisciplinary International Publication at An Giang University: Skills for Exploiting Information Sources and Writing International Scientific Articles,” drew significant interest, with a large number of attendees.
The members of the Club had the opportunity to listen to a presentation on ‘Insights into publishing scientific articles in prestigious international journals’ delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Bui Xuan Thanh (Head of Department of Water Science and Technology, Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources, University of Technology, VNUHCM) and ‘International publication in social sciences from reviewers’ perspective’ presented by Dr. Nguyen Vinh Khuong (Deputy Head of Office of Postgraduate and Science Technology, University of Economics and Law, VNUHCM).

During the meeting, innovative approaches to leveraging information sources and crafting international scientific articles were discussed. Besides, the strategies for enhancing research collaboration between domestic and foreign scholars as well as experiences in classifying appropriate journals and new research trends were shared.

Also at the meeting, experts and scientists from VNUHCM proposed solutions to enhance the Club’s operational efficiency, advocating for the establishment of interdisciplinary research groups.
Associate Professor Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Chancellor of VNUHCM, expressed his confidence in the Club’s potential to raise awareness of the importance of international publication among scientists and researchers. VNUHCM also affirmed its commitment to fostering optimal conditions for scientific research across institutions.
The series of activities by the Interdisciplinary Research Club aligns with VNUHCM’s strategic plan for science, technology, and innovation development from 2021 to 2030. In particular, VNUHCM aims to significantly increase international publications in social sciences and humanities within the Scopus database while enhancing the quality of high-quality human resources and promoting enthusiasm and awareness of scientific research, qualitative research, and quantitative research in research and surveys as well as sharing research experiences culture across the system.
